It's Oscar night, which means one thing on Mount Athos: The prestigious distinction of Most Hat-Centric Movie of 2005. In an admittedly weak crop, the early favorite was Martin Scorcese's The Aviator, which would have given the director his second award in three years. Other strong contenders were the Greek epics Troy and Alexander, which had much in the way of shining bronze helmets, but lost significant points because said helmets were often taken off to give the films' pretty-boy stars more face time. Finding Neverland received bonus points for including at least one stovepipe, but it was not enough to beat out our winner,
Million Dollar Baby. This film receives the award thanks entirely to the efforts of one man, Morgan Freeman, who seems to have a fedora nailed to his scalp for the entire film.
